PM to meet relatives of Paria divers on Wednesday

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley says he is willing to meet with relatives of the LMCS/Paria tragedy divers on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media on Monday in Santa Flora, the Prime Minister said he has instructed his office to reach out to the families today to schedule the meeting.

It follows a formal request made by the families, through a hand delivered letter to the Office of the Prime Minister, in Port of Spain on Friday.

In February 2022, four out of five LMCS divers working on an underwater Paria pipeline were killed after being sucked into the 30 inch line, triggered by a “Delta P” event.

Relatives of deceased divers Fyzal Kurban, Rishi Nagassar, Yusuf Henry and Kazim Ali Jr, as well as lone survivor Christopher Boodram are signatories on the letter to the Prime Minister.
