T&T’s favourite red man and international Soca star, hit yet another international stage/platform when he was featured on The Power105.1fm’s The Breakfast Club with Angela Yee and Dj Envy on November 4th.
During the interview Kees talked about his love for country, love for Soca music and its origins and the father of Soca being Calypso and its importance with expressing oneself around political and social issues.
Kees also talked about his life while touring and performing back to back for a couple years without getting rest.
He revealed that on his birthday on March 12, 2020 he asked God to get some sort of rest for two months – which was later granted as Trinidad and Tobago went into lockdown a few weeks after on March 29 to curb the country’s rise in COVID-19 infections.
Kees said despite the pandemic having some major disappointments for many, he welcomed the lockdown, he enjoyed staying at home, spending time with his daughter after 1 year and was able reset his body and mind.
Kees also debated Angela on which island has the best Carnival and KFC – Jamaica vs T&T, it came down to Trinidad and Tobago adding a 12th herb and spice making it the best chicken in the Caribbean.
