Parliament Pays Tribute To Herbert Volney

Grateful for the love and support, is the message coming from the Tricia Volney wife of the late government minister and Member of the Parliament St Joseph , Herbert Volney.

The was made know by St Joseph MP, Terrence Deyalsingh, as he paid tribute on behalf of the government to Mr Volney in the House of Representatives on Friday.

Mr Volney, who was born Dominica on June 8th 1953, passed away on Wednesday.

He migrated to Trinidad and Tobago after completing his legal studies in 1978.

Mr Deyalsingh described Mr Volney as controversial, flamboyant and vocal but spent a lot of time on the personal interaction between the pair.

He recalled, during a mass he attended the Roman Catholic Priest commended both of them for the way they were able to put aside political difference and fellowship in religious circles peacefully.

Member of Parliament for Couva South, Rudy Indarsingh, said the Opposition was paying tribute to a husband, father, lawyer, politician and citizen who made his mark on all fronts.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bridget Anisette George, cited the various contributions of Mr Volney to various bill during his parliament stint.
