6.54 billion dollars is the amount of Value Added Tax refunds still outstanding as at January 31, 2024.
Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, told the Senate on Monday the figure fluctuates from month to month based on cash flow.
He was asked by the Opposition through Senator, Damian Lyder, what is being done to ensure the situation is being addressed and if government has a formula to deal with it.
In response Minister Imbert said the government is actively working on it.
In the past the business community has been calling for the outstanding payments to be settled.
