Member of Parliament for Oropouche East, Dr Roodal Moonilal, is claiming a significant reduction in money as announced in the recent budget to the Police Service is cause for concern.
He says this comes at a time when crime continues to be an area of national concern.
Speaking during the Budget Debate in the House of Representatives this afternoon, Dr Moonilal highlighted what he said will be some of the implications of this development.
Dr Moonilal urged government ministers to consider taking a wage cut and identify with the hardships being faced by many citizens.
