Opposition, UNC Calls For T&T Transparency Institute To Reform Or Be Disbanded

The Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute is being asked by the Opposition, United National Congress to reform itself and live up to its mandate.

The Opposition is calling for this approach to be adopted in order to ensure accountability and transparency.

The UNC’s Public Relations Officer, Kirk Meighoo, suggests the institute should be disbanded if it fails to adopt this approach.

Mr Meighoo claimed TTTI has said and done nothing about the historic Procurement and Disposal of Public Property legislation, or the unprecedented amount of recusals in the Rowley Cabinet.

Mr Meighoo cited one instance of conflict of interest by someone who holds a senior position at the Water and Sewage Authority and one the executive of TTTI.
