Opposition Leader does not support Mandatory vaccination

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is making her position on mandatory vaccinations clear.

Speaking at the UNC’s Monday Night Forum last night, the Opposition leader said “I want to make it very clear that I do not support mandatory vaccinations.”

She however reiterated her call for parents to talk to their doctors and consider taking their children to take the vaccine.

However she added that does not support any move by the Government to make it mandatory for children to take the vaccine.

Mrs Persad-Bissessar suggested that the Government first have a discussion with civil society and put forward a proposed policy so people can consider it before any moves are made to mandate vaccines for children.
