Nurses hit the streets in Barbados protesting for health insurance and better working condititons

Scores of nurses took to the streets on Thursday morning in Barbados to force the Mia Mottley led Government to address their concerns, including the need for better working conditions and increased pay, health insurance, improved nurse-to-patient ratios, remuneration for degrees and continuous training.

According to Barbados Today Leader of the Unity Workers Union, Caswell Franklyn confirmed that he had repeatedly expressed his willingness to continue negotiations with Director General, Human Resources, Ministry of the Public Service, Gail Atkins,

He said workers are protesting for better working conditions, increase salaries, health insurance, improved nurse-to patient ratios and remuneration for degrees.
