NP workers call for senior manager to “step aside”

Workers at National Petroleum compound in Sealots are calling for a senior manager to step down while a probe is underway.

According to the Oilfields Workers Trade Union NP Port of Spain Branch President, Walter Jules, the call comes following an accusation that the manager tampered with her own performance appraisal. This allegation is being investigated by the company.

Jules said a whistleblower brought the matter to the attention of the union.

He said while the CEO has told employees the matter will be investigated, this is not enough.

He said the official in question should do the “right and honourable thing” and step aside to allow for a fair and thorough investigation.
