A man was arrested and a firearm and ammunition seized during an anti- crime exercise conducted in the North Central Division on Sunday 30th October,2023.
During the exercise, the officers received information that a loud explosion was heard near a popular bar in El Dorado. On arrival at the location officers arrested a 22-year-old male of St Michael Road, Tacarigua for possession of a Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine and 12 rounds 9mm ammunition.
The suspect was taken for medical attention as he was suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg.
The exercise was conducted by officers of the North Central Division Task Force, West and North Central Special Operations Unit.
Investigations are ongoing.
