Political analyst Bishnu Ragoonath says he does not expect much change in the political landscape at this year’s Local Government elections.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has not yet announced a date for the elections.
However, speaking at the PNM’s Sports and Family Day on Sunday, he said that the PNM’s internal nominations for Local Government candidates would begin on Tuesday.
Dr Ragoonath told Power 102 Digital that given the traditionally low voter turnout for Local Government Elections, he does not anticipate much change in the current landscape.
He added that if there is to be any change however, it will be seen in the marginal areas.
