The Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) issued a statement confirming that there is no new increase in water rates.
In the statement, WASA said it has taken note of certain publications being circulated on the media, and wishes to advise customers and the public that there are no new increase to rates. The Authority said its applied rates are approved by the Regulated Industries Commission (RIC) under the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Order #83 of 1993. The rates for water and wastewater services provided by the Authority are determined by RIC, and the process for consideration and determination of rate increase involves consultation with the public.
