The National Joint Action Committee is calling on the government as well as the University of the West Indies to pay fitting tribute to distinguished historian and former Head of the Department of History, Professor Brinsley Samaroo.
Professor Samaroo passed away at the age of 84.
NJAC says Professor Samaroo has left a legacy and a body of work that can serve to further enlighten and enrich the lives of generations to come.
It describes Professor Samaroo as an iconic figure in the world of academia who made a very significant contribution to the historical, social and political landscape of Trinidad and Tobago and the region.
