New ASTT President focused and ready to work

Newly appointed President of the Agriculture Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Darryl Rampersad, says he is focused and ready to get down to work and ensure matters and challenges facing farmers are urgently addressed.

Speaking with NEWS POWER NOW yesterday, Mr Rampersad revealed some of the areas he will put high on the agenda.

Mr Rampersad said tackling issues relating to leases for farmers is another aspect which will be at the forefront.

Meanwhile, former President of the Untied Farmers Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Shiraz Khan, speaking with NEWS POWER NOW this afternoon, wished the new leadership team at the A.S.T.T. all the best in carrying out its responsibilities.

Mr Khan said promises have been made to the agriculture sector in the past but follow through has been weak.
