MP Saddam Hosein Raises Private Motion On Crime In The Parliament

The issue of crime is being debated during a private motion in the parliament at this time.

Member of Parliament for Barataria/San Juan, Saddam Hosein, raised the motion Friday afternoon.

MP Hosein commented on the over 500 murders so far this year.

Mr Hosein took note of the issue of unemployment and its implications and opportunities for young people.

On another matter Mr Hosein claimed the nation was left without a Commissioner of Police due to political interference.

Meanwhile, Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, cited the work done by the Police Service singling out the use of former police officers who are now working with current officers.

Minister Hinds said this approach has proven to be a success.
