Assessment Of Partially Collapsed Manzanilla Road Continues, Says Works Minister

A technical team from the Ministry of Works and Transport has visited the collapse of part of the Manzanilla Road and is carrying out assessments.

The situation has made it impossible for residents to commute to work and school.

Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan, told the parliament he visited the affected area Thursday evening and met with the on-site technical team from the ministry.

Minister Sinanan said the on-going assessment requires the water to subside in order to make a detailed recommendation.

Alternative access is available along the Biche and Rio Claro route and the Minsitry has also mobilised the Public Transport Service Corporation to increase its service from Sangre-Grande via Biche and Rio Claro to Mayaro.
