This is inclusive of 923 teachers who received their arrears outside of the December 19, 2023 salary.
Another 1,357 teachers will receive backpay with their January salaries.
This was indicated to members of the teacher;s union by an executive team of the Ministry of Education during a meeting today.
It was held at the Ministry Of Education’s Port of Spain Head Office.
Ongoing processing of backpay to teachers was on the agenda.
The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association reportedly expressed appreciation for the work of the staff on this backpay project to date.
However, TTUTA requested a higher frequency of updates from the Ministry on progress of the exercise.
