Monday a Hazardous Seas Alert #1 – Yellow Level for the northern and north-eastern coastal areas of T&T

At noon on Monday a Hazardous Seas Alert #1 – Yellow Level for the northern and north-eastern coastal areas of Trinidad and Tobago Is expected to come to an end.

The alert started at 8pm on Saturday.

The Met Office said north-northeasterly long period swells are expected to affect the coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago.

The TTMS added these swells can result in occasional battering waves at coastal regions and can be exacerbated during high tides.

It warned nearshore activities (fishing, sea bathing, mooring of boats etc.) can be adversely affected.

The Met Office said all marine interests should monitor sea conditions and exercise caution along affected areas.

They are also asked to marine activities where possible.

Furthermore, fisherfolk are advised to take the necessary precautions in securing their vessels.
