MoE confirms 5 students stabbed at Palo Seco Secondary

Five students of the Palo Seco Government Secondary School were injured during a fight on the school’s compound this morning.

The incident reportedly involved members of the Six and Seven gangs.

Reports state that the fight broke out during the first recess at 10am.

Initial reports from police say the wounds were inflicted with a pair of scissors. Three students were taken to the Siparia District Health Facility and one was subsequently transferred to the Point Fortin Hospital.

Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly confirmed that five pupils had been taken for medical treatment at the hospital.

Gadsby-Dolly said she is awaiting a full report as investigations are ongoing.
