A barrel initially thought to contain only clothing food items and was, instead, discovered to be filled with high-grade marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.
On Wednesday, officers visited the compound of a shipping company located in El Socorro.
Following a discussion with officials at the company, they searched a barrel and found the drugs hidden in containers of coffee, Pringles cans and Nesquik.
Drugs were also found in boxes of cornflakes and packages of Kraft Cheese.
The marijuana is said to be worth over $300,000 and weighed 1.4 kilogrammes.
The mushroom is said to be worth over $18,000 and weighed 31.5 grammes.
Police are currently questioning a 29-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man in connection with the narcotics.
Investigations are continuing.
