A man identified as Kevin Granger was reportedly shot dead in Belmont on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place along the St Francois Valley Road, around 6pm.
Police said Granger was standing near the St Francois Valley Road Plannings when a black Nissan Teana drove up to him.
Three gunmen got out of the car and shot Granger several times before getting back in the car and driving off.
Granger was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead.
The getaway car was later found abandoned at the corner of Siparia Hill and Belgrave Street.
Inside the car police found three spent 5.56 shells.
At the crime scene police found 15 spent 5.56 shells.
Investigations are underway.
