Longdenville man beaten and robbed while delivering items ordered on social media

Arima CID are investigating an incident in which a 33-year-old Longdenville man was beaten, robbed and thrown over a bridge at Carapo, Arima.

Reports state that around 7pm on Sunday, the man, a self-employed salesman, was on his way to deliver some items for a woman who contacted his business via social media.

He told police that on nearing the delivery location, a man of African descent signaled for him to stop.

Moments after the driver brought his car to a stop, two other men approached, one armed with a gun and the other a cutlass and they announced a robbery.

The victim was beaten by the suspects and robbed of his Samsung Galaxy S20 FE cell phone.
He was later dragged from the driver’s seat of his vehicle and bundled into the back seat and the suspects drove off.

The reports further stated that when they reached to a nearby bridge, they then forced the victim out of his vehicle, and threw him over the bridge before driving off with his car.

A passerby later assisted the victim and took him to the Arima Police Station. Officers then took him for medical treatment at the Arima District Hospital.
