Three police officers attached to the La Brea Police Station were shot at by gunmen while driving in a marked police vehicle along the new Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway extension to Point Fortin on Friday night.
The officers, PCs Sooklal, Balkaran and WPC Cooper were on patrol along the highway when a white Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) pulled alongside their vehicle near the Grant Trace interchange at around 11pm.
The occupants began shooting at the police vehicle, causing the driver to lose control.
The driver of the SUV sped off.
Thankfully the officers were not injured. However, the marked vehicle was damaged.
