The KFC branch on the corner of Charlotte and Duke Street in Port of Spain, was damaged by a suspected electrical fire this morning.
The incident comes one day before the reopening of the food sector.
Around 1:30am, officers from the Wrightson Road Fire Station responded to a troubled call and upon arrival found the fast food establishment well alight.
The blaze was extinguished, but fire officials could not stop the damage to the structure.
Damage and cost has yet to be assessed.
