Kerisse Edwards alive, not the fatality in Gasparillo crash says relatives

Kerrisse Edwards, the 19-year-old girl who police initially identified as the deceased in a fatal accident in Gasparillo is alive and warded in a stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.

Police gave two reports on Saturday identifying her as the victim, saying she died at the scene.

According to a GML report, the police have since been given a second identity for the young woman who died but no relative had come forward to identify the body.

There is also now conflicting information about the details of how the accident occurred.

Around 4:20 am Saturday, a Fielder Wagon was heading south along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway with six passengers, three males and three females.

On reaching the Harmony Hall Flyover, the driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road and collided with a mango tree.

The vehicle ended up in a drain. One of the women was thrown from the vehicle and landed on a rock. The other occupants, including Edwards, were taken to the hospital.
