Sources confirm that Hosein did not show up for her check in at the Princes Town Police Station as per the conditions of her bail. Hosein was granted TT$100,000 bail with a TT$60,000 cash alternative. There were also certain conditions that she must adhere to one of which was to report to the Princes Town Police Station every other Monday. She missed her August 26 date and when she appeared at the Station last week Friday, she was taken into custody. Hosein’s lawyer told the judge yesterday that her client misplaced the book in which she records her attendance, adding that she did not mean to disregard the terms of her bail on purpose. The judge reinstated the bail.

Hosein will appear in the Siparia Magistrates’ Court on October 3 to answer the charge of wounding with intent to murder, after she stabbed her partner Sharma Ramcharitar at Quinam Beach in Rio Claro on February 14 of this year. She allegedly stabbed Ramchaitar several times and cut his throat after he shared a meal with a woman. Ramcharitar survived the attack.
