Ishmael says State owes him over $2M for servicing TTPS vehicles

Inshan Ishmael is seeking to recover over two million dollars from the state.

The businessman has sued the State for the money, which he says is owed to him for repairing and servicing police vehicles.

Ishmael’s claim was filed in the High Court on Tuesday.

He stated that between 2018 and 2021, through his company Roll on Roll Off Centre (ROC), he serviced and repaired a number of vehicles, but is yet to be paid.

His breach-of-contract claim seeks special damages of over 2-million or, in the alternative, $1,887,665.36. The lesser amount is because he admits because of disastrous flooding at ROC at Bamboo 2, Valsayn, in November 2022, he was unable to secure all the stamped approvals for payment.

Ishmael’s lawsuit says he has made a freedom of information request for the records that he could not retrieve to assist with the lawsuit.

He also wants general damages for consequential losses and compensation for distress and inconvenience.
