Investigation launched into rude WPC at St Joseph Police post following viral audio | LISTEN

AN investigation has been launched at the St Joseph Police Station, after a viral voice recording displayed the apparent disregard by a woman police officer for a caller in need of assistance.

In the audio, a man calls to follow up on an earlier called made by his wife, concerning a robbery at their premises.

The man says they notified the E999, who in turn said that they would call the station and have an officer contact the man and his wife.

The WPC then asked the caller if they were waiting and expecting the police to call them back and if he did not know where the police station was.

Senior police said the issue was brought to their attention and confirmed the incident was authentic. The officer confirmed the incident was not a home invasion as originally suggested by the caller but a breaking and entering and subsequent larceny.
The officer said the WPC would be investigated and brought before a tribunal of senior officers to answer for her tone.
