The time has come for what has been described as petty issues to be put away by persons in leadership positions.
Criminologist, Professor Ramesh Deosaran, is suggesting more focus should be placed on addressing more fundamental matters.
Speaking in an interview with Power 102 Digital on Tuesday, Professor Deosaran cited matters such as public safety, crime, the development of the economy, education reform and tackling differences between communities.
Professor Deosaran said institutional respect must be restored as failure to uphold this aspect will have serious implications.
Mr Deosaran said pushing for political points in the area of crime is not required at this time.
