House Of Representatives Pays Tribute To Former Gov’t Minister Jennifer Johnson

An unsung hero of Trinidad and Tobago with a legacy of national building and youth development.

This is how government minister, Foster Cummings, describes former Sport Minister and a Member of Parliament for Princes Town under the National Alliance For Reconstruction, Jennifer Johnson, who passed away recently.

Ms Johnson was married and had three children.

Minister Cummings paid tribute to Ms Johnson in the House of Representatives Friday afternoon.

Mr Cummings spoke about her love to work with young people and even before getting into politics demonstrated her passion for the development of young ones, as he noted that Ms Johnson also served as President of the Trinidad and Tobago Girl’s Guild Association.

Meanwhile, MP for Princes Town, Barry Padarath, spoke about Ms Johnson as a fallen hero and reflected on her courage despite the challenges she faced.

MP Padarath revisited her work on youth development, women empowerment and child advocacy rights.
