Healthcare workers to receive monies promised by the PM

The $210 million ex-gratia payment to some 20,000 healthcare workers will be distributed next month.

Minister of Finance Colm Imbert said it will be paid in cash.

He made the statement during yesterday’s Budget debate in Parliament.

The payment was first promised by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley during a political meeting in Belmont just over a month ago, before Imbert confirmed it would be paid during the Budget last week.
