Griffith: Rowley desperate to remain in office by any means necessary

“Dangerous, disturbing and dastardly”!. That is how the leader of the National Transformation Alliance (NTA) has described recent statements by the Prime Minister.

During a PNM meeting in St James on Thursday evening, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley came out with all guns blazing at Gary Griffith and and pointed to a report accusing Griffith of splitting contracts above $1 million into smaller contracts to bypass scrutiny of external state bodies.

The PM also claimed that Griffith changed policies that allowed civilians to not only own high-powered weapons, but have in their possession, outside of a shooting range as it once was, unspecified amounts of ammunition to take home.

However, in a statement Thursday, Griffith said Keith Rowley’s tirade at the St. James meeting presented as a desperate attempt at the politics of old, by throwing everything at an opponent, and hoping something will stick, except this time, it was everything he has regurgitated over the years, with not one thread of uniqueness, or fact, as is evidenced by all the contrived reports being rubbished in and out of court, most of the State matters related being challenged, and absolutely nothing in terms of evidence based fact.”

“In other words, simply regurgitated ole talk, which even his own supporters grew bored and tired of hearing, to the point that even they [his own supporters] started loudly protesting in that said meeting.

“What did present itself at that meeting however, is a man that will stop at nothing to ensure his modus operandi of divide and conquer must continue by any means necessary, even if it means inciting virtual racial tensions and racial divisions. His desperation to remain in office, by any means necessary became evident to the extent that this inflammatory language can be construed as a direct threat to the security of the citizens of this country.”
