Fire partially destroyed the home of a 77-year-old woman in Marabella on Tuesday.
The victim told police that she was at the home along Stollmeyer Street, when at 1:30pm, she was alerted that smoke was coming from the upper floor.
Residents went to the aid of the woman and helped her to exit the home with a few valuable possessions.
They attempted to contain the blaze, but a portion of the building was destroyed by the fire.
No one was injured, but police said that the damage to the home has affected ten people.
Inquiries are continuing.
