Divali Nagar goes virtual with 9-nights of events dubbed ‘Yaadein’

The National Council for Indian Culture is all set and ready to host its 9-night Divali TV/Social media event, ‘YAADEIN’ from this Thursday, November 5th to November 13th.

“Yaadein’ will bring back the most spectacular memories from past ‘Divali Nagar’ celebrations.

The virtual event came into being due to the NCIC’s inability to host a physical event this year, due to the Public Health protocols that are presently in place and with consideration being given for public health and safety.

Each night will not only feature some of the best performances from past events but it will also feature ‘live’ presentations from special guests and a ‘live’ host taking you through the night’s proceedings.

The 2 hour production every night will be filled with the best local entertainment in Trinidad & Tobago. It will cover bands, dancers, tassa, folk theatre and every aspect of Indo-Trinidadian culture relative to the National celebration of the Festival of Divali.

The events will be broadcast via National TV nightly and also featured through all the available social media platforms – all ‘free’ to the public.

NCIC said it believes that the viewership for this event will exceed past years, in view of the fact that many people are inclined to be home bound in these times.
These special 2-hour packaged segments will also be marketed to an international audience.
