Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh says that the Government is working to ensure an increase in the production of oxygen.
The Health Ministry recorded 20 additional deaths on Sunday and 629 new positive COVID-19 cases.
This has brought the total number of Covid related deaths to 2640.
There has been some concern that one contributor to the high number of deaths from Covid 19 is the lack of oxygen for persons in ICU and HDU of the parallel health care system.
Speaking this morning at the Ministry of Health’s Covid media Update, Minister Deyalsingh responded to a question on a comment he supposedly made in Parliament last Friday.
In clearing up what was said the Minister also provided info on the state of production of oxygen in T&T.
