Court Grants UNC Candicate Injunction To Contest Local Gov’t Election

UNC local government candidate for Malabar North, Lyndon De Gannes, says he has been getting encouragement from many persons relating to the Central Bank policy on employee’s contesting political office.

De Gannes, a chauffeur at the Central Bank for 28 years, has received an injunction from the Courts to stop the bank from firing him because of his candidacy for August 14 local government election.

Speaking at the UNC Monday Night Forum, De Gannes said he wants to press on in spite of the challenges which have come his way.
