Thirty-seven year old Akili Aquil, who was shot and wounded during an incident in Cocorite on Friday morning, has died.
Aquil, aka ‘Super Muslim’ of Lady Hochoy Circular, Waterhole, Cocorite, succumbed to his injuries at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Reports state that around 6:25am Friday, Aquil was walking along Cocorite Road, when he was approached by two gunmen, who opened fire.
They shot at him before fleeing the scene.
He ran a short distance away and collapsed.
Aquil was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
