Police are investigating the discovery of the charred remains of a man, following a fire at his home along St Joseph Street, Sangre Grande on Friday 5th April, 2024.
Around 4:00am, residents of St Joseph Street, heard a strange noise and upon investigating, they discovered the 64-year-old man’s home engulfed in flames.
They immediately notified the police and fire services and a team of fire officers, led by Divisional Fire Officer Descent, were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
However, while making checks of the home, the burnt remains of the man were found in the structure.
