Officers of the Central Division have arrested seven persons and seized a quantity of drugs, during Blue Line Exercises in the division.
It is reported that around 10:45 am on Friday 20th October 2023, PC Sammy executed a Search Warrant for Firearm and Ammunition at a home in Cacandee Road, Felicity, Chaguanas, the premises of a 40-year-old man. During a physical search of his person, officers found twenty-three balls of cocaine. He was arrested and later charged at the Chaguanas Police Station for Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of Trafficking.
Officers also arrested a 29-year-old for Possession of Marijuana. During enquires in the Enterprise area, officers proceeded to the home of a 40-year-old suspect at Felicity Chaguanas and searched the home and found cocaine on his person.
Officers then went to another known area where they searched the home of a man and found a quantity of marijuana in a room.
The party then proceeded to the Vendors Mall Chaguanas and conducted an extensive and comprehensive search of the area however nothing illegal was found. The officers however arrested three persons for marijuana possession, which totalled 1115.5 grams.
Additionally, during exercises at Kelly Village, officers executed a Search Warrant for Firearm and Ammunition at Jackman Trace, where they saw two suspects. The men upon seeing the police, ran in a Northerly direction, the officers gave chase and apprehended the suspects and during a search of one of the men, they found a bag with cocaine and a bag with marijuana on another.
Both men were arrested and charged for the offences.
