Buenos Aires Gov’t Primary school deemed unsafe by protesting parents

Parents of students attending the Buenos Aires Government Primary, staged a protest earlier this morning, demanding safe accommodations for their children.

This comes after a ceiling partially collapsed in a Standard 4 classroom on Tuesday.
The children ran to the staff room to inform the teachers, and the school was evacuated.

Parents said an officer from the ministry visited the school to assess the situation and they were later informed by the principal that pupils in Standard 3, 4 and 5 would have classes as usual from 8:30am to 3:00pm in the “safe part of the school.”

However, parents are insisting that the area in school assessed by the ministry as being safe, is not safe.

The parents are calling on the ministry to fix the school now.
