Budget Theme 2020: Stability, Strength and Growth

In the beginning his budget presentation this afternoon, Finance Minister Colm Imbert said the budget will seek to:

1. Expand exports and increasing foreign exchange earnings and employment
2. Suppress crime
3. Reverse non-progressive values, attitudes and behaviours such as low productivity and poor work ethos
4. Undertake constitutional and institutional reform
5. Ensure an effective and efficient public service
6. Address the impact of shale gas on our market and lower gas
   reserves and production
7. Discourage the culture of irresponsibility and dampening
   unreasonable expectations
8. Ensure effective and efficient public service delivery and
   implementation of development interventions and measurement
   of result
9. Protect and sustainably use environmental resources
