Blanchisseuse man shot dead

A 50 year old Blanchisseuse man was shot dead this morning.

Carver Evangelist was at C-Connor Street around 7:10am when he was shot in the head.

He was found by residents who heard the gunshots, and a report was made to the police by his son.

Carver previously complained that he made more than 20 reports of death threats issued to him and his sons at the Blanchisseuse Police Station but nothing came out of it.

He and his sons were being threatened with death over the years, in a dispute over land worth millions.

On February 17th, 2021, Carver’s son Sherwin Maharaj was shot dead near his Blanchisseuse home.
Then on January 27th, 2023 Maharaj’s brother 31-year-old Michael Evangelist was killed in a double murder at a construction site in Blanchisseuse. Nigel Didier was also killed in that incident.
