A bandit was shot dead by the owner of a Firearm Users License (FUL) when he and two others attempted to stage a robbery in St Augustine overnight.
Reports are that the group of men attempted to rob a house along Freeman Road, St Augustine, around 1am when the holder of the FUL opened fire.
One bandit was hit and attempted to run a short distance away. But he collapsed and fell into a drain where he died.
A second suspected bandit was also hit. However, he managed to escape with the other accomplice.
Investigations are underway.
