A suspected bandit was shot and killed by police in Valsayn on Wednesday night.
Around 9:30pm, two armed men entered Roy’s Sports Bar at the corner of Bassie Street and Southern Main Road, Spring Village, Valsayn and announced a hold-up.
They then proceeded to rob the proprietor and several customers of cash, and then grabbed a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes.
However, on exiting the bar, the bandits were greeted by responding officers and a shootout ensued.
One suspect, identified only as ‘Dark Man’ was hit while the other ran off, but was later found hiding in a bathroom.
‘Dark Man’ died on arrival at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
