Airports Authority responds to Piarco bomb scare

The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago responded to Piarco International Airport recent bomb scare which took place on Saturday.

According to a release issued last evening, the Airports Authority said its department received an anonymous tip alerting of a bomb threat against an aircraft of Caribbean Airlines Limited servicing the domestic route.

The Authority said as a precaution they advised CAL and the T&T Civil Aviation to evacuate the aircraft.

The release continues by adding that there was no full-scale evacuation at the airport, contrary to what has been in circulation on social media.

However some persons chose to vacate the Airport and a few of its terminals.
