Point Fortin officers arrest burglar and car thief

SHEM CHARLES will appear before a Point Fortin Magistrate today, charged with burglary and larceny of a motor vehicle.
Point Fortin officers investigated robberies in the district which led to the arrest of the 26-year-old man.
On October 16th, 2020, around 1.40 pm, a 39-year-old man parked his blue Nissan Almera vehicle at Spring Trace, Warden Road, Point Fortin, by a friend. He returned around 2 pm and discovered his vehicle missing.
Later that same day at approximately 9 pm, a 79-year old woman of South Central, Main Road, Point Fortin, secured her premises and retired to bed. Sometime later, three men broke into her home, bound her hands with tie straps and covered her face. The men ransacked her bedroom and then left her home.
When the woman broke free, she discovered $1,000 missing from her purse and the keys to her Nissan Bluebird Slyphy. She contacted the Point Fortin Police Station.
Investigations into the two incidents led to the arrest of 26-year-old, SHEM CHARLES, of Techier Village, Point Fortin. Investigators are searching for the other suspects.
