A 61-year-old Cumuto man was shot dead at his home last night.
According to police, Azaad Ali was driven to his Rapsey Trace, Tumpuna Road, Cumuto, home at around 8.30 pm by a relative.
While the relative was parking the car, Ali got out of the vehicle and went inside the house.
However, shortly after Ali walked into the house, the relative heard a noise.
He said he got out of the car and called Ali, asking if he was okay but did not get a response.
The relative called the police and officers of the Cumuto Police Station responded.
When the officers entered the house they found Ali’s body with a gunshot wound to his right eye.
A bag containing $5000 cash was found near his body.
One spent 9 mm shell was found at the scene.
Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
