Four persons were arrested and two firearms and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers during ongoing Operation Blue Line exercises in the Northern and South Western Divisions yesterday.
In the Northern Division, officers conducted an exercise between 6 pm and 9 pm, on Friday 1st September, 2023, during which they proceeded to Phase 1, La Horquetta, where they executed a search warrant at a house.
The search resulted in one Glock pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition being found and seized.
Two suspects, ages 39 and 22, who were in the house at the time of the exercise were arrested in connection with the find.
Meanwhile, in the South Western Division, officers investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Oropouche district, around 10 pm, yesterday, intercepted a Nissan AD Wagon along the Southern Main Road, with two male occupants.
A search of the vehicle resulted in one sawed-off shotgun and one cartridge being found and seized.
The men, ages 39 and 30, of Siparia and South Oropouche, were arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
