280 TT nationals to be repatriated this week

Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, Principal Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health said that within the last seven days, approximately 240 nationals have been repatriated from the United States, Miami, New York and Barbados.

Dr. Richards added, “We intend to repatriate another further 280 patients this week. Again from Miami, New York and Barbados.”

She then provided an update on the benefits of the parallel health care system.

She said the repatriation process involves a seven-day quarantine stay at a facility.

 

Dr. Richards said that the parallel health care system includes 19 facilities with three levels of care- hospitals, step-down facilities and quarantine facilities.
