A double murder along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway (CRH) on Monday night is currently engaging the attention of police.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of Piarco Plaza.
The deceased have been identified as Carlsbury Lewis, 43, and Shamba Chandler.
Around 8:15 pm, police report that a beige Nissan Almera vehicle was proceeding west along the CRH in the vicinity of Piarco Plaza, when another motor vehicle reportedly drove alongside it and several loud explosions were heard.
The unidentified vehicle then proceeded south onto Piarco Boulevard as its occupants fled the scene.
The Almera with the deceased is said to have continued west across the Piarco Intersection before eventually coming to a standstill on the shoulder of the roadway,
Police retrieved seven 7.62 shell casings, 11 5.56 shell casings and 12 9-millimetre shell casings.
